ABOUT THE BOOK
Apart from adding up-to-date case law, we have tried our best to procure Assignment related new Laws and all important orders issued by Governments of A.P. and Telangana since the release of Second Edition and added in this Edition to make it a comprehensive and up-to-date.
Among all the GOs issued by Govt of A.P., the authors feel that the following GOs stand out among them and they have put an end to lot of litigation on those subjects in High Court.
1. GO.Ms. No. 259 Revenue (Assignment-I) Department dated 21-06-2016 ordering payment of compensation and other benefits admissible under the Land Acquisition Laws, to assigned lands also on par with patta lands.
2. GO.Ms. No. 279 Revenue (Assignment-I) Department dated 04-07-2016 dispensing with the system of issuing NOCs in respect of lands assigned to Political sufferers and ex-servicemen.
3. GO.Ms. No. 575 Revenue (Assignment-I) Department dated 16-11-2018 ordering deletion of lands assigned prior to issue of GO.Ms. No. 1142 Revenue dated 18-06-1954 from the lands prohibited from registration under Section 22-A of Registration Act, 1908.
The Authors feel and hope that the Govt of Telangana too may decide to issue similar orders, so that the litigations in the State of Telangana too come down drastically.
The Govt of Telangana amended sub-clause (i) of clause (b) of Section 4(1) of the Act 9 of 1977, by substituting the date of 31-12-2017, with the earlier date of 29-1-2007. The net effect is that those who purchased the assigned lands in good faith and for valuable consideration up to 31-12-2017 are eligible for re-assignment of the lands purchased by them. This step provides a great relief to several such purchasers. This amended provision is yet to be fully implemented. However no such decision has been taken in the state of Andhra Pradesh so far.
